Power Rangers MegaForce-Episode 4-Stranger Ranger: Summary And Thoughts

Pictures come from MegaForce Cast.

Summary: A boy named Jordan is telling his friends that he's the Red Ranger and can fight monsters. The Rangers just are appalled by this. Creepox in the meantime reveals a monster that the Rangers' can't catch up to because of his speed. Jordan then gets in the middle of the fight and the Rangers tell him to "go home". He follows them into a forest where they are training. Troy is teaching them how to where the monster is by movement, not by site. Jordan finds them, but morphed. He then learns that the being a Ranger is not easy. The Rangers leave to fight the monster. Troy fights Creepox on his own while the other 4 defeat the monster with the Sea Brother Zords on their Mega Blasters. Of course, the monster grows and they activate the Megazord. They are failing because of his speed, but then it's toy promotion to the rescue as Gosei sends Jake and Gia new Zords. These are the Land Brother Zords. The Rhino, Beetle and Dino Zords form with the Megazord to combine the Land Megazord and defeat the monster. Jordan apologizes for being something he wasn't and it all ends on a high (decent) note.

Thoughts:
This episode was actually pretty good despite some very small flaws. I did like that Troy keeps having frequent dreams about this mysterious war featuring a bunch of different Rangers. (Wonder when he will tell Gosei.) Jordan was a nice touch, I have a feeling we will be seeing him in the future. The fight against Troy and Creepox was pretty cool with some good banter here and there. Finally, the training sequence was very unique along with Jake's "go home" line. That was a first for Power Rangers. Very nice.

There were some things that drew down this episode though. For starters, Jordan's part in this episode made him act more like an "8 year old" rather then "18". It felt like something a child would do or say. Another thing was that his classmates (I'm assuming) just blew him off after he spoke the truth. Wow, really nice people....not. Gosei and Tensou not being used bugged me and finally, the random debut of the Land Brothers. Look, I know it's a toy commercial and all and they are skipping Goseiger episodes and all, but it doesn't make sense for THIS episode. This was a Red Ranger focused episode, yet the Land Brother Zords are ment to be used for the Black and Yellow Rangers. It made more sense for the Sea Brothers in the last episode because it was a Blue Ranger focus, but for this, it didn't make much sense. (This also happened in the Goseiger episode as well.

Still a strong episode and it deserves a

4/5
