Power Rangers MegaForce-Episode 4-Stranger Ranger: Summary And Thoughts

Pictures come from MegaForce Cast.

Summary: A boy named Jordan is telling his friends that he's the Red Ranger and can fight monsters. The Rangers just are appalled by this. Creepox in the meantime reveals a monster that the Rangers' can't catch up to because of his speed. Jordan then gets in the middle of the fight and the Rangers tell him to "go home". He follows them into a forest where they are training. Troy is teaching them how to where the monster is by movement, not by site. Jordan finds them, but morphed. He then learns that the being a Ranger is not easy. The Rangers leave to fight the monster. Troy fights Creepox on his own while the other 4 defeat the monster with the Sea Brother Zords on their Mega Blasters. Of course, the monster grows and they activate the Megazord. They are failing because of his speed, but then it's toy promotion to the rescue as Gosei sends Jake and Gia new Zords. These are the Land Brother Zords. The Rhino, Beetle and Dino Zords form with the Megazord to combine the Land Megazord and defeat the monster. Jordan apologizes for being something he wasn't and it all ends on a high (decent) note.

Thoughts:
This episode was actually pretty good despite some very small flaws. I did like that Troy keeps having frequent dreams about this mysterious war featuring a bunch of different Rangers. (Wonder when he will tell Gosei.) Jordan was a nice touch, I have a feeling we will be seeing him in the future. The fight against Troy and Creepox was pretty cool with some good banter here and there. Finally, the training sequence was very unique along with Jake's "go home" line. That was a first for Power Rangers. Very nice.

There were some things that drew down this episode though. For starters, Jordan's part in this episode made him act more like an "8 year old" rather then "18". It felt like something a child would do or say. Another thing was that his classmates (I'm assuming) just blew him off after he spoke the truth. Wow, really nice people....not. Gosei and Tensou not being used bugged me and finally, the random debut of the Land Brothers. Look, I know it's a toy commercial and all and they are skipping Goseiger episodes and all, but it doesn't make sense for THIS episode. This was a Red Ranger focused episode, yet the Land Brother Zords are ment to be used for the Black and Yellow Rangers. It made more sense for the Sea Brothers in the last episode because it was a Blue Ranger focus, but for this, it didn't make much sense. (This also happened in the Goseiger episode as well.

Still a strong episode and it deserves a

Power Rangers MegaForce Episode 3-Going Viral: Summary And Thoughts

Pictures come from MegaForce Cast.

Summary:
Vrak sends down a monster that uses a special kind of slime that can infect people with a virus that can turn them into Loogies. Troy, Gia and Emma notice the Loogies and Jake and Noah follow the monster. Noah is having trouble believing in himself because he can't lift his Snake Axe. Eventually he gets over it, the Rangers turn the humans back to normal. The monster grows and they form their Megazord. However, because Noah is more confident, a new toy needs to be shown. They are the Manta Zord, Hammerhead Zord and the Sawshark Zord. Otherwise known as the Sea Brother Zords. They form the Sea Megazord and defeat him.

Thoughts:
It's a filler episode.....and not a real good one. Yes I know it's only the 3rd episode, but still. It's decent though showing some characterization in both Noah and Jake. But I didn't like how the Sea Brother Zords were just put in there like magic. I know it's a big toy commercial and all, but when they get shoved in without supporting something, it's not special. Only if the episode is GREAT (Like Undercover Rangers from Time Force.)

Overall, this filler deserves a decent

Power Rangers MegaForce Episode 2-He Blasted Me With Science: Summary And Thoughts

Pictures come from MegaForce Cast.

Summary:
Vrak persuades Admiral Malkor to send a monster down to earth so that he can capture humans and research the way that they live. He does so and the monster starts to capture people. This catches the eyes of Gia and Jake. They follow the monster to the beach. They are spotted by the monster and commands Loogies to attack. Troy and Emma arrive and Noah comes in later. (Why?) They free the civilians and defeat the monster with the MegaForce Blaster. However, Vrak reveals his "Zombats" that make the monster grow. From the Command Cave, Gosei and Tensou activate new Power Cards that reveal to them their "Mechazords". Troy gets the Dragon, Emma gets the Phoenix, Jake gets the Snake (hardy har har), Gia gets the Tiger and Noah gets the Shark. They all form to get the Gosei Great Megazord. With it, they defeat the monster with a Victory Charge. Admiral Malkor gets ticked off for the failure. Gosei tells them that their bravery and teamwork saved the day. (????)

Thoughts:
While not as strong as Mega Mission, it's still pretty good. I liked the debut of the Megazord. It was cool ans lasted long enough to show us what it can do. I liked the little flashback of Troy running into Creepox. At first, I thought it was another vision. The reason why the Zords are called "Mechazords" is to make a reference to "Super Sentai". (the Japanese show where Power Rangers gets it's footage from.) The Zords are called "Mecha" so they decided to use it for this. Gosei Great is also the name of the Megazord in "Goseiger" (the Sentai that the first half of MegaForce is using.) Admiral Malkor also getting ticked and breaking his wall was also a breath of fresh air.

The things I DIDN'T like were the confusing bits. For one, Gosei said they saved the day because of their teamwork and bravery.........HOW? When was that brought up or exhibited? They were fine. Also, Noah showing up WAY LATER was stupid. I know that they have to deal with the footage and all, but come on. He's stuck behind with the science teacher? Way to stereotypical. No interaction with Gosei and Tensou beyond talking on their Morphers was confusing. The obviously know where the cave is, so why can't they go there?

Overall, it was still a good episode, just not up there with Mega Mission. This episode gets a

Power Rangers MegaForce Episode 1-Mega Mission: Summary And Thoughts

Pictures come from MegaForce Cast.

Summary:
When the evil Warstar aliens begin to surface earth and plan attacking it, Gosei asks his robotic aide Tensou to call upon "the most energetic and unstoppable group that exemplifies the enduring human spirit." Otherwise known as "teenagers". The teens he chooses are Troy Burrows, the new kid in town, Emma Goodall, a BMX biker and lover of nature, Jake Holling, a very athletic and fun-loving person, Gia Morgan, a very confident person who is also Jake's crush and Noah Carver, an aspiring scientist. Gosei explains to them that they have been chosen because of their skills and character. He then teleports them to the city where the foot soldiers, Loogies, attack them. They're lucky at first, but get knocked down pretty quickly. They use their Morphers to become the MegaForce Rangers. They activate their weapons using their Power Cards. A monster appears and the Rangers fight him off and destory him with their MegaForce Blaster. They get back to the cave and Gosei tells them they did well, but Noah says they were lucky this time, but Gosei tells them that luck had nothing to do with it. They were chosen and for good reason. Now they have a duty to protect the planet. They put their hands in a line and call out their catchphrase. "Earth's Defenders Never Surrender!"

Thoughts:
Well after those cruddy 2 years that Samurai gave us, this premiere episode made up for it. It's probably the best season premiere I'VE seen since "Operation Lightspeed" from Lightspeed Rescue. I liked the little throwbacks that were made to reference "Day Of The Dumpster" like the line about Emma and her hair. It also helps that these teenagers (much like Dino Thunder) is very realistic. They go to school, they study, they have a hang out called ERNIE'S Brain Freeze and their personalities shine out. The acting is well......OK, but keep in mind, this is the first episode. They need time to get into their roles. (Jake, Gia and Noah being the best of the bunch so far.) The morph is pretty cool to. It kind of mixes in all of the previous morphs into one. (If that makes any sense) I also like how Gosei was under the guidance of Zordon meaning he's kind of been a back up for him. And yes. I am pleased with Troy's dream and flashbacks about the war and the "Ranger Statues" in the cases. Not going to go into my thoughts about that since a lot of people already have. We will just have to wait and see.

There were some things I didn't like. For one thing, it was.......
Tensou.

I mean come on. Look at him! It's a WALLE rip-off! For that matter, it's all CGI. It's terrible. You might as well have just brought back Alpha. Another thing I didn't like was the "Mega Rangers, That Was A Mega Win!" line. I hope they don't copy Samurai. It just sounds wrong. I also hate the theme song. It's a re-hash of the Samurai theme and it's just lazy, but whatever.

Overall, Mega Mission was a great start to the season and gets a rating of

5/5
